Tribal Style Belly Dance for BEGINNERS
Mondays - 5:30 - 7:00pm  ( note the NEW earlier CLASS START TIME!)
This is a ongoing beginner level class, no need to preregister! Drop ins welcome. Perfect for the new student or those that wish to learn a bit more about tribal style!
Basic introduction to tribal bellydance movements, including combination's and drills for take home practice. Students will learn the core language of tribal style bellydance, steps along with layering techniques and more! This is a great class to check out if you are interested in fusing styles of belly dance.

Mixed Level Technique & Drills
Wednesdays - 7:30 - 9:00 pm
This is a ongoing mixed level (inter-vanced) class, no need to preregister! Drop ins welcome. Some belly dance experience recommended.
The focus is tribal movements, combos, dance posture and formations. We also learn fun take home drills for practice.
There is also an opportunity to drill basic finger cymbal patterns. Lots of group improvisational drills, zills and upper level technique during this class.
Fancy footwork, combos and even some strength training included weekly...be prepared to move!

Class Pricing: 

Classes are DROP-IN and cost $12 per class

Muti-class cards can be purchased in advance

4 classes for $40

private lessons are also available for $35 per hour



Students will want to wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of  movement, yoga pants, full skirt, fitted stretchy top or choli. Hipscarves are optional and quiet ones are preferred. Most students go barefoot but your welcome to wear ballet slippers or leather dance soles.
You may also want start a "dance bag" with water, hipscarve, notebook & zills/finger cymbals to bring to class!

 
** Both Maple Street and the WWC are on the City of Albuquerque's route 66 bus line
The bus runs every 10-15 minutes on Central Ave and the stops are very convenient to both studios
 

About the instructor:

Flo Bargar has been teaching tribal style belly dance classes in Albuquerque New Mexico for 5+ years and has been a student of this art form for 10 years. She shares her passion for tribal belly dance with the local community by sponsoring belly dance workshops, taking and teaching weekly belly dance classes, producing various belly dance even
ts and performing around as much as she possibly can!
